23.07.19 > The Tokyo Diaries

Time for smart phone images to have their say. With a little help from my diary, some poetic license on the order of curation, and plenty of rain

Even though there are other colours of umbrella to be seen, for me Tokyo in the rainy season will be forever the city of transparent plastic umbrellas.

05.06.19 > Beyond the broken places

Through my photography I’m currently researching visual representation of what it means to be a human inhabitant of digital space in a late capitalist democracy. My latest project ‘The Broken Places’ explored the visible surfaces of the underlying societal ideologies using pseudo-psychogeography to push me across the fragmented cityscapes of the 19 burghs which make up the Brussels Capital Region, Belgium. This journey using overground transport networks and the public transport app took me across the city’s fragmented spaces, both societally and administratively speaking, was juxtaposed against traces of the datasphere imagined as a continuous digital space around us.
